A Marquee Wedding
A blank canvas or marquee wedding has been an ever-increasing popular choice for British couples. Weather it’s a marquee, tipi, yurt or tent you are completely in control of all of your wedding aspirations. We have listed a few pointers below to consider when planning your marquee wedding…
Location & Size
You can choose (within reason!) where you would like to situate your marquee or tipi. This gives you the opportunity of using a field from someone you may know – which can save you a lot of money! Or alternatively you can check out some of the venues that provide the space for you like (along with other things like toilets, security & clearing up - saving you the hassle). You will also have the flexibility in deciding the layout & size of your structure – this means restrictions on numbers will be based only on what size you choose & how you decide the layout should be.
You’re able to decide on the external style to suit your theme. From contemporary modern clear span frame tents to yurts or petal pole marquees, the options are endless whatever the season.
The interior of the marquee really is your blank canvas, where you really can put your own mark on it. With most marquee wedding companies offering a variety of linings, furniture, lights, floorings and carpets - the choices are endless. A wedding planner will help your ideas come to life by designing and styling the interior to suit your theme, with no limitations.
With no set venue caterers you will have complete control over what your guests eat. With most independent wedding caterers offering a huge variety of options from the traditional sit down wedding breakfast through to street food, Summer BBQ's & more. Some caterers will even offer free consultations & tastings so you can get your head round everything before you hand over the cash.
Having control over where the booze comes from and who it is supplied by is another big win over package venues. Sourcing the bar and/or alcohol from local and independent supplier will mean an interesting selection of drinks, expertly served and your guests will probably still pay considerably less than if they were buying from a venues wine list!
This means your guests are still able to get a well-poured drink for less than they would from a venues bar. And last but not least with no noise or time restrictions in place, you and you guests can party 'til you drop.
