The 12 Drinks of Christmas
35ml Bourbon preferably Woodfords Reserve
15ml Dry Vermouth
10ml Festive Spiced Sugar Syrup
2 Dashes Christmas Bitters or Angostura Bitters
Fill up a mixing glass with ice add the Bourbon, Vermouth, Sugar & Bitters. Stir in a clockwise direction and count to 10, stir again anti clockwise and count to 10. By this time the alcohol should have become diluted by about 1/2 again. Strain into a Coupe or Cocktail glass & Garnish with orange.
Tip: Festive Syrup Recipe - In a pan add 1 cup of sugar & 1 cup of water add in 2 thumb sized pieces of ginger thinly sliced, 2 cinnamon sticks, 2 star anise, 2 cardamon pods heat until the sugar has dissolved. Leave to cool, and allow spiced to steep for 1 hour. Strain and store in container which can be kept for up to a month in the fridge.
